I ordered a "Hawaiian chicken" wrap. The description online reads: "chicken, red grapes, pineapple & toasted almond." So I think I am going to get only those things, on a wrap. I pick it up, bring it back to my office and this is chicken SALAD with way too much mayo and cinnamon added! It was absolutely disgusting, not to mention I am slightly allergic to cinnamon (causes my lips and tongue to swell, but not anything very serious, thankfully). I wish the menu stated all the ingredients or even just had "chicken salad" so I would have known to avoid a mayonnaise-based concoction. I will NOT be going back!

I don't usually post reviews, but I felt I had to. This place was nearly empty on a Saturday night, which surprised me because the food was really good and the portion size was large. We ordered Chicken Parmigiana and 2 slices. The crust on the pizza was crispy and it was like a NY style requiring me to fold it. All said and done, if you want Italian, you won't be disappointed here. I'm still surprised this place isn't packed.

So far everything I ordered here was delicious. They have a great selection and it always tastes fresh! Will continue to order delivery service from here.

I got the meat lovers calzone and veggie pizza delivered. Calzone was big with a lot of meat and cheese in it. Was a little on the greasy side but was still good. Veggie pizza was delicious with tons of toppings. Delivery was estimated 30 minutes but arrived in less.

The food is not good. If you get any kind of seafood it tastes like it's been sitting out all day. It's very fishy tasting, and smells horrible. The food is delivered very sloppily, all the containers are always spilling out into the bag. The customer service is TERRIBLE. They take over an hour to deliver your food and it always comes soggy and cold. Their Oreo cheesecake tastes like straight salty cheese for some reason. The cream of crab soup is nothing but grease and milk. It's also kind of irritating how they close at 9:30pm and stop taking orders at 8, even on the weekends. Don't order from here. It's too expensive for how crappy the food is.

I've only been here for lunch, and that's because they have a two slice and drink for $5.99 special. I found that I would let the 2nd slice go to waste, so now I just get a slice of the Bacon Cheeseburger for $3. $3.00 lunch makes me holla!

One Liner: Satisfying Italian fare when my stomach is grumbling but service is always lacking. I work around the corner so Carmelo's is on my lunch rotation. Sometimes I order ahead for pick up and other times I will eat there with coworkers. Regardless of whether I get it to go or eat in my experience has been consistent - the food is good but the service is lacking. For example, the veggie calzone is very good with lots of oooey gooey cheese. Its sizeable like most calzones and for me is perfect for two meals. Also, the garlic bread hits the spot although its not the highest quality bread. Regarding service, last time I ate in the waitress was sitting at a table with some other customers and not focused on her other tables. I guess she knew the other customers and got caught up in conversation. My take-our experience isn't much better. The last time I went in to get food to go I went to the register to pay but the guy standing at the counter said nothing. I guess he wasn't working the register or something, but it would have been nice if he had said something like, "Hi, __(name)__ will be right with you." It was definitely awkward. At least Carmelo's is consistent so I always know what I am getting - good food, mediocre to poor service, large portions and a very fairly priced meal.

Just dined here for the first time. They have a large impressive italian menu for pasta. And 4 kinds of pizza including my fav Sicilian. We had a starter of tasty fried calamari( my one yr old loves it). Then garden salad brimming with veggies and italian olives and a Caesar salad. My husband had the veal chessapeak over angel hair pasta and lump crab meat. I ordered my fav pizza with italian sausage. The cheese blend on top of the pizza was very nice. This is one of the few places where I actually took a doggy bag home.

I placed a delivery order to my hotel and was very disappointed with the faux Italian food I received. The chicken parm was very overlooked, dry with very little sauce. I asked for balsamic dressing, but got only balsamic vinegar with my salad. The salad was covered with bland canned grated cheese. If I was in the resturant I wouldn't have sent the food back - it was that bad. My recommendation is find another spot that has a better value and better food.

I ordered a crab meat pizza and the whole bottom of the crust was burnt! I called to see if they would replace it and they said that's how they make it and wouldn't make another pizza! I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, especially if they couldn't even make it right!! The app is making me give them a minimum of 1 star and they don't even deserve that!!!! You tell me if it's burnt!!

I am a meatball sub junkie and Carmelo's has the best meatball sub. The meatballs are homemade and flavorful, the sauce is tasty, and they add the perfect amount of ooey-gooey cheese. The bread can destroy the sub, but Carmelo's knows this so they chose the best sub roll--it's BANANAS!! It's soft with a wonderful texture that holds the sauce properly. I've been ordering the sub for a couple of months and have not been disappointed. Sorry no pics, I eat too fast.

One of the better Italian takeout places I've been to - the quality of the food is actually really good. The service is great, and we usually end up with our favorite waitress (a young looking Peg Bundy?). For the service and quality of food, the prices are pretty low - I usually spend around $10 for coke, tons of fries, and an enormous sandwich. There are always tables available, the environment is nice, quiet and clean, and there are high definition TVs up for news and sports. There's plenty of parking, too.

I simply love this place! Don't let the surroundings fool you- the portions are gigantic! The flavors are simply amazing- we could not believe the quality of food! We were taken here by our Uncle, and it was a treat! I love Italian food- and this was wonderful. Try anything with the fresh crab! YUM!!!

Huge portions. Delicious food. Comfortable for family. We found it one time we were flying out of BWI, and now we always stop. Our first visit they brought my daughter a free slice of pizza. I love the penne arrabiata. My wife likes the chicken with artichoke.

Meh describes this place perfectly. I dined here once a while back and received food poisoning from their shrimp salad wrap, bleh. My boyfriend insisted that we give them another chance so we came for lunch. We were greeted quickly but other than that the service was very poor. We spent over an hour for lunch and the place was not busy. We didn't receive our salads before our meal like everyone around us (she forgot) and our food was just okay. I had the turkey and smoked gouda focaccia and he had a cheesesteak, have definitely had better..

Solid place for lunch in Linthicum. I've been here 5 or 6 times and the pizza and foccacia are consistently good.

I only ever take the time to write a review for exceptional service. What a nice find! Had to kill a few hours before a flight and wanted to catch up with someone. Wasn't much in the area around the airport until we stumbled upon this. The waiter (wish I could remember his name) was awesome and had a great personality. I was honestly expecting run of the mill food but my linguini with littlenecks was very very tasty. Low price for very good quality food!! So we still had a few hours before our flight so we were those people that stayed talking long after we paid the check. It was 3 in the afternoon so not a very busy time. But our waiter was so kind and brought us some water and a piece of cake to share and welcomed us to stay. It was so very kind and went above and beyond! Highly recommend!

Went here to lunch with some coworkers. We ordered: Meatball sandwich, meat lovers calzone, and a cheese steak sandwich. Everyone was satisfied with their meals, but I think they forgot to make the cheese steak because it came out 10 minutes after the other meals. I personally had the calzone and found it adequate. Nothing to complain about, but nothing to rave about either. Decent proportion of meat and cheese and the marinara was good. Service was average -- not sure why they have a waitstaff. It would be easier to just order at the counter, take a number, grab your drink, and then sit at an empty table.

I stayed in Baltimore for a couple of days and the front desk recommended this place. I go online to order my food, after placing the order and paying I get a phone call from this place in which they told me they didn't have the Chicago style crust so i requested the Sicilian style crust. She relayed they didn't have that either, so i ask for the New York styel and since it was cheaper could they substitute for something else to make up the difference needless to say the asshole of a manager gets on the phone and say they cant substitute and i need to cancel my order online and resubmit. I told them to forget it because they don't have anything in which their online website stated. He hung up on me and was very rude. I would not recommend this place horrible customer service and if you order online please call to ensure they have it available and ready...it was only 3pm so not sure why nothing was ready. Trash!

This place used to be good but in the last couple of months it has gone down hill the service and food have been terrible orders are wrong and twice items have been forgotten we ordered carry out and when we got home and opened the container it looked like it had been thrown in the box also it seems like they have changed something I the pizza does not taste the same also the meat in the steak sub taste different the employees don't seem happy any more and the manager doesn't seem like he knows what he is doing it is a shame because this was a nice place but probably won't go back have given several chances and still not right

Our church is just a few blocks away, and after a recent weeknight service my husband and I were starving. A friend recommended Carmelos: "No frills, but the price is right." That perfectly describes this tacky-cute cafe with delicious, homemade food. The entrance is a little odd -- there are 4 or 5 doors on two sides of the restaurant, but only one is unlocked. Once inside, you pass the takeout counter and come to a makeshift hostess stand; she seats you at a plastic-covered table with plastic-covered chairs and plastic-covered menus. Hey, it's all scrubbable. :) The menu is rather extensive, but we played it safe and went with two Italian classics: Lasagna Bolognese and Chicken Parmigano. Both were outstanding. My husband's chicken was a large breast, split and sauteed expertly so it was still crispy, served with a huge pile of angel hair pasta and marinara sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and the sauce had excellent flavor and depth. Meanwhile, I laughed out loud when they brought my lasagna: it was the equivalent of four normal-sized pieces, served in a T-shape. The pasta was, again, al dente, a lovely contrast with the creamy ricotta and tender ground beef. Oregano and red pepper were on the table, and I added both, but the seasoning was quite good as served. When it came time to leave, I asked for a box to transport the 3/4 of my lasagna I hadn't been able to finish. I also asked for another side of marinara to take home, as I'd eaten all mine with the lasagna (did I mention it was delicious?) The server brought me a whole soup container full, and I enjoyed several more wonderful meals out of the same dinner, which cost me all of $16. The atmosphere isn't great, and there are some slightly sketchy patrons, but wow, what value for delicious Italian food. They brought garlic bread with the meal, which wasn't the highest quality, but there's something to be said for warm and buttery! The only real miss were the side salads: one or two pieces of green amid a sea of tired iceberg lettuce and pink tomatoes. Have a salad some other time, and order pasta when you come here!

Went in here to order carry-out veggie pizza and calamari. The girl at the counter, Trisha, was very friendly and helpful. However, the food lacked a bit...

Just ate here. Food was passable at best. Service was slow even though they only had a few tables. Had to ask for silverware. You think I was asking for an act of attrition. Finally got forks and when I asked for knives the waitress's came back and slammed them down on the table. When she asked if I needed anything I told her manners. Needless to say she never returned. We will NEVER return.

I've only ever gotten the Bistro Steak Salad here but I love it. It used to had pine nuts on it but now toasted almonds. I miss the pine nuts but the almonds work. The pizza looks amazing and one day I'll have to try it. This place is pretty popular with local workers it seems so around lunch time it gets pretty crowded with small groups. Tables are close, so try to go early or after the lunch rush if you don't want to wait for a seat. Carryout service is available.

Let me cut to the chase: this place is TERRIBLE. Where do I begin? First, I should have turned around when we tried the 3rd door to enter. Then, when our party of 3 was seated, our inexperienced waitress really seemed confused. At one point, she stated she usually doesn't eat Italian food. HA! So, we ordered. One wanted pizza, but since there were no small/personal sizes, he had to order slices. Pepperoni? No; Sausage? No. Only have pepperoni & mushroom (together). HUH? I ordered the way overpriced special menu, which included salad, chicken parm (burned) and a small cannoli, for $20. Really, I don't get the high ratings some of these people have given. It's clearly bs. Not good.

My boyfriend & I met a friend here for lunch recently. I was encouraged by the positive Yelp reviews & was definitely in the mood for a good, solid Italian meal. I chose the Chicken Marsala for lunch. (Sadly, I forgot what my companions had. I know that my boyfriend also had a pasta dish.) The food arrived with a basket of garlic bread. I immediately grabbed a piece of bread, because, like any good Italian girl, I was craving garlic in the worst way. One bite and -- what? This is not garlic bread! It didn't taste like garlic. It was yellow, but I'm guessing it was some kind of garlic oil, with a few scattered herbs on it. There were also red bits - I'm not sure how they roll in Baltimore, but I can't remember ever having garlic bread with what I'm guessing was red pepper on it. And no garlic! And now for my Chicken Marsala: the food *tasted* good, with fresh mushrooms, tender chicken, & perfectly-cooked spaghetti. But I couldn't get over how much oily greasy sauce was left in my plate! I've never seen a marsala sauce with that much oil. So, it was tasty, but I was left with an uneasy feeling when I saw my "empty" plate. My boyfriend felt the same way - his dish was good & filling, but he was also left with a swirly plate of oily red sauce. The price is right, the pasta is perfect ... but I can't say that I would be rushing back for a meal here any time soon.

Stopped in here to grab a pizza before heading to BWI Airport. Reminds me of a comfortable, lo-maintenance neighborhood place. We loved it! Sports on the tv and quick order service by pleasant and helpful staff. Pizza was yummy, toppings generous. Sausage was especially good. Server took my grandson up front to watch the pizza makers and gifted him with a little dessert to go. We would def make this a regular stop if we lived in the area, but will absolutely stop by when on our way in/out of BWI.

Our first visit. All 3 of us loved our entrees; veal, spaghetti w/ meat sauce and spaghetti carbonara. I would recommend going with angel hair pasta instead of spaghetti as spaghetti did not stay on fork too well as it was shorter pieces. If going for Cesar salad go for dressing on the side. Huge portions to take home for another meal. Great local family place. We will be back.

I had the Seafood ala Chef and it was mighty fine. I've never experienced a seafood pasta dish where I was able to enjoy a piece of seafood with each bite...and I'm not blowing smoke up your chimney here! I'd give this place 4.5 stars here based off that dish, but my wife ordered the chicken calabrese and it was medicore. I'm not one to ever complain about ambiance. If the place is clean and serves good food, I'm happy. However, the combination of chairs and floors here literally sounded like a herd of Chewbaccas every time a party pushed out there chairs and left. It was out of control, annoyingly loud. Nonetheless, 3 stars because that seafood pasta dish was the highlight of my week.

Almost hidden and unnoticeable in a small shopping center in Linthicum, Squisito's Too is an excellent place to catch a meal. Either dine in or out, the food is always fresh and plentiful. You will also find most dishes are less than $15, and are able to feed two people, it will almost be impossible for anyone to leave hungry! My only gripe is no smaller portions at dinner time( lunch prices and sizes end at 3pm, very strict too), other local places will allow you to get their lunch portion any time, Squisito's not so much. Staff is always friendly and fast!

We've eaten here many times and as people who lived in Connecticut and dated in Massachusetts our expectations for Italian food tend to be high. Tonight we each had mussels in marinara sauce and split a house salad. The mussels were fresh, tender and a good size; I was full at the end. Good salad. We asked for some substitutions I it and it came exactly as ordered. Service was good even though it was a busy Friday night. $22.26 (we brought our own wine)

Not a bad place to go if you are looking for some Italian food, check this place out. I go here during the work week with coworkers. I like getting items off the lunch menu. I've had the spaghetti with meat sauce and the cheese steak here. Both are good. Sometimes it gets crowded during lunch time so plan ahead just to make sure you can sit down.

This is my go to place for pizza. I usually order the New York Style pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, and bacon. They are always very generous with the toppings! The pizza is always cooked nicely, no soggy crust! Their Hawaiian pizza is also pretty good with large chunks of pineapple. Their sub sandwiches are also pretty good and very large. I usually get the chicken parmesan sub and it's always loaded with cheese, chicken, and sauce. I find the fries to be disappointing, they're too soggy and undercooked for my liking. I've only tried one of their pasta dishes (but I've had it several times) and that is the Tortellini Tri Colore, and it's excellent!! The dinner portion is HUGE!! You can easily split it into two or three meals. I love the sauce and the combination of peas, prosciutto and mushrooms. Very yum!! Their garlic bread can be hit or miss, sometimes it is garlicy and awesome and some days not so much. I do love the added kick of the red pepper flakes on the garlic bread.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
